Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the spark plug gap is for my LPG ford scorp 2.3. I know it has to be a shorter gap but not sure how big.
Thanks ...

The plugs are called "Laser platinum" premium. They are made from NGK spark plug co.LTD. They are double platinum. I believe they are made in Japan.
Thank you very much.
Ps
Dont do what I did and fit them in. Then think o shoot I havent changed the gap. Embarassed

Modern plugs if bought for the car are normally set to the correct gap, but still worth a check before you put them in i suppose.

hi there

well, i've bought the ngk plugs as well. just about to fit them. one thing you need to check is the gap size! you could drive a bus through it! i think they're a bit special, so i'll only close it a bit, maybe 0.9mm to 1.0mm. on petrol you might get away with leaving it alone.

derek, if you see this, how is your car running with them?

cost £27 inc VAT for the 4 (local parts shop). listed for the 2.9 24 valve as well.

Hi,
Anybody after PFR6B plugs look on Ebay, I have just purchased a set for £22.00 with free  postage. Seems like a bargain to me...His feedback seems OK..

Cheers

hi there

1.0mm is for the standard platinum plugs.
these new double platinum ones are 1.1mm and when using LPG you need to close it a bit to around 0.9 to 1.0mm.

Hi Scorpio_man,
I seem to remember you were going to try Iridum?
I've been running my scorpio(lpg) since 6/12/04 on NGK Iridum plugs. Every thing seems to be running fine.
Maybe the cost of 53 pounds put you off?

do tell me about this product  Huh

The reason I went for Iridum is because LPG burns hotter and produces more wear and tear on the spark plugs. So accordingly Iridum being harder material then they last better.

I Use NGK triple electrode plugs for LPG running, 20 k and not as much as a hic-up. Platinum plugs may not run well in hi performance engines using LPG, certainly I would not recommend them in the 24v.
