i've looked at the 'how to' for brakes. Would i be safe enough following this guide for changing pads/discs on a mondeo.

I would think so. The method of changing Discs/Pads on MOST cars is very similar and with it being FORD more likely.
If you have any mechanical know how it will become apprent as to how to when you get the wheel off the first one.
Some one with more practical knowledge of the MONDEO will I am quite sure put me right if what I have stated is incorrect.
