Replacing Cossie Waterpump

What's the job like, is it as simple as others ?

Took my daughter to school this morning and struggled to get home - temp went right up, then engine kept cutting and when I eventually got home looks like the water pump has let all the water out, not sure if there is any other damage yet  Sad

Yep easy enough to change once you find a replacement....
First of all they'll get you a Granada one then you'll have to wait another three weeks for the correct one!!  Grin

no its the wrong one i have one just like it at home  Smiley
the only way you will get one new is order from fmd and cross your fingers
i managed to source one from a scrap engine as fmd told me they would have to put out a search for the water pump which could take up to 8 weeks with no guarantee at the end of that time they would locate one
regards

Listed for a 24v here: - https://www.sapmotorparts.com/shop/english/ (right at the bottom) so I assume that is the BOA engine.

Even fordparts uk are struggling - they sent me a picture of 2 pumps listed for the cossie and one of them looks the same as the above - I'm going to have to take it off first and drag it round with me to try and match it up

bizzay,

you will only get the water pump from an FMD. As far as I am aware, the water pump for the Cossie engine is the same as the thermostat; there are no pattern parts available.

As Stuart has said, you will get the 12v one first; even from an FMD, because that is usually what happens!! Grin

Good News, after filling her up and running her up to temp - I am pretty sure it's NOT the water pump but one of the hoses coming away from it, I have just spent the best part of 2 Hours taking the small hose that comes away from the pump and the bottom radiator hose off, what a game -  Undecided  never before have I seen such a set up, ended up taking the ac pump off to get at the short hose properly. I'll try and find some pattern ones tomorrow  Roll Eyes

I've just replaced the small elbow hose on one of mine, its actually a different diameter on either end which prevented me making one up. only £8 from FMD

this is the photo that fordparts uk sent me, @scorpio_man - the top one is the number that was on the invoice in the mailing list's Hungarian member who supplied the details, but that one looks just like the other photo I posted ??

That does not look like a 24 v water pump more like the 12 v . the bolt holes are different .... get the part number off it and ask Ford parts for one .

Well, got the 2 hoses today, fitted and filled with water only to find it's the other hose that goes up from the thermostat housing  Cry

so what should be my next move ?? can somebody tell me what sort of a job it is, is it a matter of removing the inlet gear or the lot - heads and all ?? what is the rough cost of the gaskets & hose that I would need ?? I have no access to a garage so is it viable to do it on the side of the road ?? my heart is telling me to order the parts and get on with it - but my head is telling me to ring the scrap man and let her go - your opinions please gentlemen

bizzay1.
If it's the hose that goes through the front of the nearside head casting it costs about £12 from Henry! The changing of it requires gritting of the teeth as the aircon compressor is in the way at the bottom, and inlet manifolds and fuel rail at the top.Time consuming but not technical.
