Anyone reading this, please check if you have relay at R7! And confirm that you have working daylight running lights or not. (R7 is located between those yellow ones shown above) I'd appreciate that, thanks!

the relay is r14 as far as i remember. i had nothing in the sockets, freshly rebuilt fusebox, just plugged it in and it was working

But do you have R7 or not ?

Did the relay look like that blue one on picture?

Are you sure you don't have that L -shaped piece of metal?

I removed that "L-bridge" but didn't notice anything.. strange

hi there

where are you fitting this new relay? are you fitting it in the glovebox relay holder?

iirc, you should be.

still don't see why there is such a big deal in turning on the lights with the switch! Undecided

I have fitted relay 14 to central fusebox: http://fordscorpio.co.uk/images/central_fusebox.gif

But I don't know if R7 should be there or not! (Should I order one just to test it?)

please, wojtekor or someone with daylight running lights, could you check and confirm that?

hi there

maybe i'm reading you wrong, but i'm talking about the relay holders above the glove box INSIDE the car, not in the engine bay.

What about them? There aren't any relays related to lights.

If I'd had daylight running lights, I would've posted a picture by now Wink

I'd be surprised if the dim dip relay was required - but don't know.

I’ve had a look into the busbars mentioned in the Wiring diagram
P103 Country code busbar II rear fog lamps
P105 Country code busbar III front & rear fog lamps
and it seems they are variations of the item in position B in the central fusebox.

hi there

iirc, you put the relay in where the air compressor (old self levelling suspension) relay should be.

How do you know that  Huh
That's interesting.

Any idea which kind of relay should go there? Same as specified for dim/dip lights AND air compressor? YELLOW one, 90GG 13LO28 AA ?

Not possible, there aren't free relay sockets. Only two and both are in use. My car is LHD facelift if that matters.

Relays behind glove box are Blue R31 (Headlamp washer) and Green R37 (Cruise control)

Got it there, contacts clean... But no, does not work here either, maybe the R7 is needed after all...

Have you tried R7 yet? I just ordered one.

No, I was supposed to get one but didn't. Had also a short discussion with a swede having a swe regged one with DTRL as standard. He didn't have R7. Then I was supposed to send a picture of my layout but became preoccupied with other things...

Has there been anyone but wojtekor (who I believe was trolling) who got this working?

The busbars Tompion mentions can be just to short some connections. My guess these just connect power from the ignition/charging to the relay inputs in question. Messing with these without being 100% sure is pretty risky though. On factory DTRL interior lights need to be set manually from the light switch.

I did. You need to have a Scandinavian fusebox, swap it and there you go. If you already do have it just plug in the missing relay.

OK, thanks for the info. Any chance you could post a picture of the fusebox, so every bridge etc. is visible? It would sound strange that Ford would produce a completely different box for just one single feature.

The box is the same, the top layer with the slots and bridges is slightly different... Can't post a pic unfortunately, my car is in the UK and I have just moved to Australia...
Don't play with fuseboxes if you're not a specialist... Give it to a garage and they will do it for you.

Anyway here's mine. So the difference is mostly in those bridges like the L-shaped?

Item B (country code busbar) I mentioned before is the dark brown item to the right of the white one in your picture & above the right hand of the yellow relays.
It's labelled "B" in the fusebox cover.

And the one I got installed has the following text. Definitely from a German country version.

What is good news is 92GG which says Scorpio I/Granada mk3 facelift.

92 GG 14K036 DB
89 71 92  023YA (or D23YA)
II (roman 2)
NSL/(NSL+NSW)

The nordic version has the second row text "89 71 92 D23TA" (unless the Y has been read as a T, and the car is a german import, the info was from a breaker in Sweden), unfortunately I don't have a tech. number handy.

I have asked the local FMD to find out the finis of the nordic version of the part. Tekno, you have a Scorpio I, could you check the corresponding part from that (assume it's nordic from new) if it has DTRL.
