Hi all

About to replace the waterpump on my 24v (yes, I've got the right pump Wink.  I intend to drop the radiator out the bottom to improve access - any "gotchas" or tips to be aware of when replacing the pump?

Another good product is 'Rost-Off-Ice'.   Smells like 'germoline'!   I've found this stuff really good on my Bikes, and one of them had a real old rusty set of header-pipe-bolts.   It's quite expensive, but I reckon it's worth it.

Ok - got 5 bolts out - two are "obstructed" by the water pump pulley.  I've taken the four pulley bolts out - does the pulley just need to be tapped off or does it need a puller on it (I hope not as that'll mean the rad needs dropping Sad ).

EDIT:- Yeah - once the four bolts are removed from the pulley a light tap with a hammer and it slides right off.

Two of the other bolts is obscured by the LH belt tensioner but I reckon I can get that bolt off with a spanner from underneath the car.

Possible false alarm above.

Took it for a drive to get it up to temp to see how bad the weep was.  On a 10 mile run it hasn't lost any water, fans kicked in as expected, temp needle rock solid in the middle.  Can't see any weeping anymore - maybe the gasket has to get wet and hot in order to seal?

I've left the under tray off it so I can see if there are any leaks overnight when it cools down.

Glad to report no drips and coolant level is where it was the night before (and first time in ages) - it used dump enough coolant overnight that you could see a stream running from the driveway onto the road.

That's job no.1 done!
