Scan for CB1 (v4max)

Scanned John's Cosworth (complaining of heavy fuel consumption  Wink ), got this:

Codes
P0131: oxygen sensor circuit low voltage (bank 1, sensor 1)
P1132: Lack of Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Switch - Sensor Indicates Rich - Bank No. 1.
Codes now cleared.

Data on the HO2S sensors seem to show appropriate switching but the graphs for the front sensors shows some slow switching.
Data shows LTFT 1+3 = -13.3%; LTFT 2+4 = -18.0% - mixture running rich (very, an error code will be generated below -25%)
TP = 17.6% - a little high but could be a result of other issues (reading from last year was 18%).
MAF correlation with RPM is 99% (near perfect).

Enhanced data also showed “No failure” for Oxygen sensor 1 for both banks 1& 2, MAF, EGR, TPS, CMK, EVAP. All other data looked ok (MAF volts= 0.611)

Possible causes:
So could be the bank 1 (drivers side) upstream sensor is dodgy. But the negative fuel trims strongly suggest the fuel regulator is broken – this can lead to slow switching and heavy fuel consumption.

More info from site here.

Hopefully, Andrew (ScorpioMan) may be able to comment further.

hi there

yes, ltfts are a bit high, so fpr could be on the way out.

have you checked all the usual stuff? MAF, spark plugs, a/c, brakes, etc.

next to check would be for any air leaks, but the idle seems steady enough.

check wiring to lambdas, but again they seem ok. i'd clear all codes and disconnect battery for a bit to reset the ltfts. check it again in a couple of weeks. if still as bad, then change the fpr first (again resetting everything). do a scan a couple of weeks later and see what you get.

John, did you reset the trip computer for the return trip on the autobahn - would expect mpg of around 28-30 in the cossie.

If you want to go down the frpr route let me know - I've a modified method for the cossie.
