Was it the type of lift that leaves the front wheels hanging?? If so then what you have is perfectly normal and will go away soon, they dont like being lifted like that for some reason.. See the fault finder under steering judder http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/faultfinds.htm

I thought it was a hydraulic problem, in that tiny air bubbles form in the fluid (especially if it is old fluid) when the vehicle is off the ground & the steering no longer under load. As soon as the car is back down & the steering under load, then the air bubbles get trapped & that is what causes the vibration on full lock, which soon passes as the air is purged out under normal driving conditions. To further back up this theory....my Scorp used to do this after the front wheels had been off the ground, but ever since I completely flushed the old PAS fluid (when fitting a new rack) & replaced it with new fluid, then this particular phenomena doesn't seem to affect the car anymore I could just be talking a load of old twaddle though ......

June's 2.9 used to do it even if parked on rough ground. You're dead right about Scorp ownership. I've never known anything so temperamental. With one possible exception. Oh, there you are dear...

You don't have to be mad to own a Scorp - but it helps!
