I found this quite by chance on Ebay, it looks to be right, and the price is only a little bit more than the last pair I bought from Germany! Might go for a pair. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281517599197?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_ trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

Right, I've purchased the two of those, both sides for about £157 including delivery, it looks as if the large bushes are included as well! I'l post up the verdict once I receive them! Peter.

Well, got the Two wishbones today. £157 plus pennies for the Two delivered to Highlands Scotland! They look and feel in good order, they're obviously re-conditioned units, with Brand-New Ball-Joints pressed in and new rubbers clipped over the joint. Along with Brand-New bushes in the forward end, and the big-doughnut supplied. I'm not going to fit them until the joints fail the MOT, they're easy enough to remove/replace. So won't be able to comment on their 'roadworthyness'. Definitely these Ball-Joints have been pressed into the casting, so somewhere the ball-joints on their own are available! I'm very pleased with them in any case, good clean nicely painted castings, with all-new parts, I won't be buying from Ford any time soon! Peter

Peter this takes us back to the 'old days' when Highlander was researching doing exactly what you describe and trying to locate the appropriate ball joints. IIRC a 'Probe' one was considered to be a possibility. UPDATE. This is the saga I was referring to. The last entry is a link to a similar purchase to yours Peter.

Yep, I got about as far. I tried to use Metro Ball-Joint I think. The hole in the wishbone is slightly tapered and the Metro Ball-Joint was slightly bigger. I reamed out the hole in the wishbone so that the ball-joint would press-in, but I was unhappy with the amount of material left on the wishbone. I then test-destructed the reamed-out wishbone and an original wishbone for comparison to find that the reamed-out wishbone was not even HALF the strength of the original! I consulted a friend who is involved in insurance assessing and quality of manufactured parts. He informed me that if I was to make-up these wishbones under these circumstances, I would then become 'The-Manufacturer' and in event of an accident could be seen as liable. I stopped at that point. Mind-you, if I could find the exact Ball-Joint that is used for the job I would make-up wishbones. But I wonder if I could match the price of £157 for the pair delivered to UK including the large bush. Looking briefly on ebay the large bush is about £27, the small bush is about £8 a Ball-Joint like the one I used was £25, double that and you're already £120, and that's without delivery and 'work-time'. I think the price is OK for those complete wishbones, so long as they perform OK on the road. Peter

Update. Fitted the Off-Side wishbone yesterday in the afternoon. Took about a half hour to fit, mainly because all the bolts had been out before around Two years ago, and new ones went in suitably greased. The old wishbone (or NOT so old) Ball-Joint was broken right-enough. New wishbone went in a treat, and seems to do the trick, just need to wait and see if it lasts any longer!
