Scorpio 2.0i 1996 misfire problem

Since the car broke down with 2 wires from the engine management system to the petrol tank shorting out i have had a misfire, the garage has repaired the wires car starts but misfires . Any ideas If control box anyone braking a 2.0i / scorpio who whats to sell me one. [b][/b]

Update, have just had the car checked all sensors are fine ignition coils firing, then we came to doing a compression test on the cylinders, first three great as you would expect from an engine with only 70000 miles then we came to the forth and nothing, like i said that the car was missing but there is a tappet knock, the tuner said that the pistons rings seem fine as no smoke so it looks like its either the cam or one of the values stuck open. Anyone come across this problem Update Found that rear valve spring broken
