Ok, i'm not prepared to give up yet on getting a scorpio as i've just seen one online that i'm thinking about getting but....I really like the black tinted h/lights (this one doesn't have them). Does anyone know whether I can just replce the regular ones with the tinted ones? The car is the later spec with the badge on the front grill instead of the badge on top of the chrome grill.

thanks

The tinted headlamps are still available I believe - at a cost! They vary according to whether you have levelling etc, etc.
Alternatively, you can get lenses seperately. A couple of guys on here have done the job. Sounds like it could be a bit of a pig to do, but it is do-able. Might even do it myself one of these days  Undecided

The headlights do come apart. You will need to loosen the bumper mounting bolts to allow removal. There is one bolt that is in the inner wing and requires removal of the inner wing plastic cover to gain accesss. Then separate the glass from the headlight by cutting around the seal with a stanley knife or similar- be carefull! The reflector can then be painted. I used Satin Black . Obviously mask areas not to be painted and build up with several light coats, dont be tempted to put it on too thick. You will then need to reseal the glass, i used black windscreen sealer. Good luck. john.n

Hi dazzer, this has made no difference to the headlight range/power. But i know what you mean, Scorpio headlights are not the best in the world-all fords seem to suffer from this. No probs with the mot either. john.n Wink
