Can anyone tell me on my 2.0 and the two 2.3 cars the revs tick over at 1000 revs. steady. but on my 2.9 cosworth the car ticks over at half that 500, but it steady, is this correct or should the cosworth tick over at 1000 as well. otherwise everything else is ok. its goes really well, except twice over the past six months its power dropped off a little for a few miles, but then it righted itself all on it own.

hi there idle on the 16valve cars should be about 800-850 rpm. the 24 valve is 700-750 rpm. could be your rpm meters is out a wee bit. you can watch them in VE (OBD2). as long as they're steady, shouldn't be anything to worry about. ps. at start up it's always a bit higher. maybe +200 rpm.
