If I am offered an amount from the insurance company what do people think is a fair value? 1995 Ford Scorpio 2.5 TD Ghia Saloon in Aborigine 95000. I have owned the car for around 3 years and have done the following as well as regular routine maintenance. Reconditioned the Gear Box New Clutch New Steering Rack 4 New brake discs 2 new rear calipers Anti Roll bar links? Alternator Battery All of which has cost a small fortune but I bought the car trade from a dealership my brother used to work at. Although I have spent a fair amount I considered it an investment and intended keeping the car for many years. Now the bad bits the car has the following bodywork issues which i would of put right as money and time allowed. Stone chips to front Crack in front bumper Scratch/scrape on rear bumper And a tiny rust spot on the drivers side wheel arch which i only discovered when the jet wash took the paint away (only an area around the size of a 5 pence piece) So what is a fair value?? Thanks for your help. I hope if it comes to it they will let me buy it back and do the repair at a local garage as they have quoted me around £ 500 as opposed to £1200 at the accident repair centre.
