Hi Roy, Make sure you have the foam filter in your air box that covers the engine breather inlet. If this is missing or degraded oil fumes can smog up the MAF pretty quickly. HTH

Don't think its listed when it has to be done i don't have a service manual that states it to be done at ex miles. i should imagine tho if the air filter is dirty then the maf needs cleaning more, possibly if you travel close by places which emit a lot of dust,in the past i e coal mines/cement works dustier the enviroment more maf cleaning. THIS AS ONLY BEEN A SUGGESTION NOT A KNOWN FACT Ren

I dont think waders was referring to the main AIR filter but to the samll peice of foam that should be at the inside/rear of the box to filter the oil mist from the engine breather pipe. If its missing the MAF will soon be gunged up with oil mist. eddie
