anyone got any tips on caravans suitable for a
2.9 24v cossie estate.
got to find some way of slowing me down so
thinking a nice 2 berth not too heavy tho.
don't want to be too slow.

cant see beyond his nose why b/c he tailgateing the caravan,i got a mate who drives 32ton artics to me he drives it as if the unit is attached to the trailer by a piece of string so CAREFUL and he says he professional
driver,now if we out in his car a vw gti an come across a caravan being towed he goes narnas he has no idea how to overtake it he races right up behind it stands on the brakes blowing his horn pulling over to the white line see if it clear this takes minutes and loads of frustration,realy alls he had to do was stay back so he could see road beyond caravan and would have probably overtaken within seconds,but its an impatient world we live in.

monday yuk major traffic delays as all these
parents/grandparents all jocky off to the schools
with the kids,its been bliss last week i was able
to get out my drive 5 out of 5 next week prob
manage 2, still if i get me a caravan that will put
6 very wonderfull and colourful parents haveing
to find somewhere else to park whilst they deliver
there kids to school.

Now now gentlemen, the question was a suitable caravan to tow with a 2.9 24v.
I haven't towed with my 24v as it didnt have a bar on, but I have towed a caravan with my 2.0 saloon and my 2.3 estate.
The 2.0 towed my 12 foot 2 bert compas omega at between 50-75mph no problem and ver stable.
My 2.3 towed my newer carave a 5 berth Coachman oasis with no problems at all, the self leveling was a doddle and the car and van were stable.
On a side note I have never held up anyone with the van on the back, on a roads I crack along at 60mph whick I think is the limit and on dual carageways and motorways I have been known to cruise along at 75-80 with no problems.
The only downside of this was the 2.3 used to return a healthy 15pmg with the van on but what the hell. I also had a sticker on the back of my caravan which said
"I'M SORRY IFYOU ARE IN A HURRY IM NOT COS IM ON HOLIDAY"

I have an Abbey Adventurer, mass wight just over 1400kg.
My 2.9 12v tows this with no problems at all, easily cruising at 60-70mph on motorways and no problems getting up hills.
The last time I used it, ( the wife normally drives it,) petrol consumption was about 20 mpg while towing.
