removing front bumper

hi yall how easy is it to remove the front bumper ? because i need to get to the head lamp washer jeton drivers side due to me being heavy handed i have broke the top of the jet washer the part that sits in the bumper. any advice would be helpful, cheers

Hi Music_Man,
I changed a front bumper on my old 16v last year and if I can do it anybody can  I think it took the removel of 2 x screws each wheel arch and then there is two bolts that hold the bumper to the front of the car either side of the radiator. I hope this is of help good luck

I have a blocked headlamp washer, had a quick look today and I think you can get to them from the underside of the car, just off out to have a go, will let you know 
or you could do the other thing i did and get someone to grab the washer when it comes out

You can get at the washers if you remove the front foglight assembly (2 minutes) and use a stubby phillips driver to get the two screws holding the unit to the bumper. You will need to raise the head first and remove the cap otherwise you will break the cap off and it wont stick back on again!!
And you can get at it from under the car as well but I find it easier from behind the fog light

Yep Baz, looks easier that way, turned out "blocked" washer jet was actually a kink in the small hose to the washer and just needed a twist

Johnv, You need to get under the rear of the car,There are four M8 Torx bolts, two either side on the chassis rails and there are two plastic clips, one on either side on the sides of the bumper that twist a quarter of a turn.

if the torx bolts are anything like mine were your going to have to either burn them off or use an angle grinder,absolute pigs to shift them as they rust up big style,gaz

thanks to richard.
The reason why I asked that was because the other persons insurance company, (o god we back on to insurance again). well they have paid for a brand new towbar to be fitted to another of my cars.
So the left hand side of where it goes up the side is a little loose. Only a little, most people would not bother but when the car goes in for MOT I will ask if I can have a look up for the said plastic clip
And Gas01gas.
Yes, when i had the 1st tow bar fitted it was done at my home. They drilled then out I think. I remember the chap saying that the makers of the towbars always put in the towbar kit some new ones because they know they will be needed for sure

If you can get them out and they still are the Torx type then you'd be better off replacing them with an ordinary M8 bolt.

yes richard about bolts and put some copper grease on them as well. copper grease is real good stuff, they won't corrode in then.

but richard, I do understand, Its everyone else that does not.
Look I try one last time.
Today I walked along the A45 on the path and i saw a old Landrover going along at a certain speed. (its does not matter what speed)
Behind the Landrover was a little car, I don't know what make it was. I suppose it had 13 in wheels. well what size are old landrovers wheels 17 inch or maybe more. they are real big.
So both cars where going along at the same speed, the one at the back not catching up or fallen behind.
The small cars wheels where going around like the clapers, where as the landrover where just ambering along. not going anywhere near the speed or the amount of turns as the small car.
I particular looked hard at these car wheels due to the posts on this thread.
Do you understand it now or do I need to explain further. LOL.
I think this thread is so funny that people can't understand.
