Cat & Lambda Survey

not sure whether this post should be in "parts" but here we go... ...could members please advise on cat and lambda prices on all models ? .. as with everything to do with Scorps these parts sometimes get misquoted by people having had prices ..but not gone ahead with the purchase leaving other members thinking the quote was definitive ..so accurate final prices would be appreciated please ..we intend to make direct fit Scorp ones along with our exhaust systems so we need to see what we can do for members price wise and whether it's practical... thanks all ........ regards......STN

STN I think there is another way round this, have you ever heard of BM Catalysts, they manufactur them in mansfield, they do high performance cats, and a vast range of what they call uni cats, just a single cat of varying sizes with virtually any size / combination of inlet / outlet pipe stubs, I dont think it would be too hard to replace the front silencer with one, I know its a bit cooler that far back, but a lot of vehicles cope with cats positioned further back, volvo's for eg. may be thats why scorpios have such an appitite for cats. i have used unicats many times when the original is very expensive, just cut out the old, weld in the new. Hi Martyn and thanks... I hear what you say of course but we also make our own cats too.. both monolith and metallic substrate ...that's why i am asking members really ..to get definitive prices and see if it's worth us tooling up and supply pattern cats discounted for site members ..our main business is race exhausts and cats too so it's no great problem .. ours are stainless too naturally ....thanks anyway though .....regards... STN... How much would I be looking at for a replacement system? I wouldn't want anything outrageous, just a straight copy of the standard Ford one. Would like it to still sound the same (nice & quiet, except when flooring it of course ) Just thinking ahead here. The original exhaust can't last forever!

Craig... Kev's one looks the business I must admit, but I think it needs to be practical. Plus, I like the fact that the car can sound so normal around town but can still produce the goods when called upon. All part of the charm of the car (for me anyway).

Hi STN I did order the ring gasket but No fittting kit was ordered. The Ford Cats came with the self adheasive ring gasket in place so I did not use these. I used new copper coated aftermarket locknuts and I had already replaced the centre support bracket and clamps about six months ago. Both cats went on ok virtually identical to the old cats except the welding was not as good.. Regards Mike in Luton

Hi STN on 11/12/04 a new NSF supply and fitted was £282.oo at a local W-S-M tyre exhaust place ,and in 04/03 a drivers side supply only was £191.49 ,but it took three attempts at getting one to fit .i.e. they sent three different ones regards Colin (24v est)
