HEATER BLOWER NOT WORING AND SPEEDO STUCK AT MAX

I recently aquired a 1994 2.9 ultima estate with the speedo stuck at max and the heater blower stuck at nothing. Can anybody help?

Don't know about the blower , but if the speedo is stuck at max even when the  key is out of the ignition you could try giving the  top of the  dash  an almighty  thwack to see if it  dislodges the errant needle.
 
 It's amazing what this manouvre   can  accomplish, I was sure   my  clock  backlight  bulb  was  a candidate for  replacement    ( a tricky  job )    till  I   whacked  the dash and ,   piff paff poof  , on  it  came .

dissconnect then re connect battery, should sort speedo, make sure battery in good condition.

seen a couple of M, reg's myself nic,so i guess the answer is yes,only for a few months though....

Yup, from October I think, I had a December 94 M.

If you look under the technical data there is a date code shown for the VIN plate for October 1994, Code is RR.HTH.Simmo,
