What does the jury think... Just booked in for an oil change at the local National tyre depot special offer ...£25.00 for synthetic 5-30's and filter,,,I was told that Ford had directed them to use this instead of 10-40's..... would that be correct? Cheers John

what engine do you have.? regarding the filter as well, you really are better off with a genuine ford filter because of the valve in them....

Hi Craig, It is a 2ltr 16v 1996...I ask the chap about the non-return valve as I had read this on the Forum and assured me it had one on the replacement filter,,,,, Cheers John

being the 2 litre,i would advise the semi synthetic,i have the 2.3 and use semi in mine,i think the fully synthetic is recommended for the 24 valvers..... but at the end of the day,the choice is totally down to you.... HTH..

Thanks all, Well it has 5-30's running around, time will tell...it also ended up as a means to an end having given the mechanic a couple of quid to loosen the rear bumper torx bolts...Now fitted the tow bar...all's well that ends well... many thanks again John
