Hi,
Just a quickie, as a new handbookless Scorpio owner do the door mirrors push flush to keep them out of harms way when parked...I dare not try pushing them just in case they don't..

Cheers

Afraid they don't fold in. They will snap from their housing if you give them a bang but they don't fold in. Perhaps it's a legacy from the old 80's Granada which I'm assuming had similar, if not identical mirrors. And welcome to the club Cheesy

Scorp mirrors  are not designed, as  other cars are,  to  have a second  " elbows in " position,  but when whacked with another cars'  mirrors  they do  dislocate themselves from the door mounting  via  a rather  nifty  series  of  articulated  hinges .  Another  nice design job  that mostly goes unnoticed

It's  a simple job  to  pop it back in place.

Oui you're right, Flop.. we should appreciate them for what they did. But the same mirrors appear on the mark 4 fiesta!

Hi all,

many thanks for the info, I have since been down to my local breakers for a couple of red lever covers for the rear dropdown estate seats, whilst there I had a tug at the door mirrors and exactly as described....CRACK and in they came on there articulated hinge, but as mentioned only for the occasional collison, but at least there is some protection built in..

Many thanks again to the members
cheers
