Ron At a simple level, you can get redex 1 bottle per tank for about a pound, using say one tank in three. That seems to do the trick but you can also look at other options. STP do a two pack product that cleans the injectors and boosts power. Alternatively, Shell Optimax and BP Ultimate are also reckoned to clean injectors each of these options work to some extent. Try the redex Injector Cleaner as a start and if that does not sort it escalate. First time use small bottle I think its about 125ml on say half a tank.

I the past when I have used it I have used this http://www.stp.com/fuel_sc_fic.html . I used to put a full bottle into about 1/2 tank and run till nearly empty then fill up . I used to do it about every 6months , but after I changed to 'super' grade petrols Optimax and the Ultimate and have not used it since.

i think what is being said,is basically the choice is yours, some of the "premium" petrol is just as good as using a fuel additive, personally i use the "premium" petrol, some use the fuel additives.IMHO i think the petrol option is better, that way the cleaning is an ongoing process... HTH

What I am saying is . You can at your own risk use these fuel additives, and IMHO you will not do any harm. However I would NOT recomend the use of the additives on more than , say twice a year use, As Craig so rightly states the modern premium fuels like Shell Optimax and BP Ultima have over time, the same effect. What I did was use the cleaner twice over a short period of time and then change to Shell optimax which I run my 12v on. It might seem expensive at the POS, but it pays in the extra mpg and slightly beter performance (if you can say that about the 12v) but I get well over 400 miles out of a tank of the stuff on a reasonable run at Mway speeds with the AC and CC on all the time. I think other members of the forum have found the use of premium fuels pay in the long run ( excuse the pun)! Cheers Snoopy(Dave)
