I have had my 2ltr estate about 2mths and now getting used to the car, but it does seem to have a very hard suspension, does not like potholes or uneven surfaces, the handling is not affected, its the ride that seems just too firm..
Anybody who knows Scarborough coast road just under the Castle will know the cobbled area, well the druming was to put it mildly pretty bad...
Is this normal or am I looking at new shocks all round, dread the thought..
I run with 30 psi all round...

cheers

John,

mine is the same. Handles fine, just very boomy when the wheels hit anything hard. I think the Estates are a bit noisier due to the open space. Mine has had new new rear shocks fitted before I bought it a year ago, so I know its nothing to do with them. Just a combination of big tyres and big space.

Turn the stereo up. It helps Grin Grin Grin

Thanks all,

Yep, I was hoping to here these remarks...thank goodness..

I am lead to belive that all estates are self load leveling which may help give it a firm ride and I suppose the estates have firmer shocks...

It's just that I have had estates most of my life and this is definatly the firmest ride, that said I have just started to use it to tow the caravan and the ride is perfect when towing with the added nose weight of the caravan.

Do you find the front hard if you hit a pot hole or a sleeping policeman, jarring would be a better discription, if I shove down on the front corners to test the shocks all seems well...I suppose as mentioned the radio volume will have to come into more use...Hi

Cheers

I have noyiced my estate handles fast cornering better that any other estate I have ever driven, so I guess thats down to the stiffness of the suspension.

Thats me off to feeding and then Bed
