engine coolant 24 valve

Hi All I am having the radiator on my 24v recored next week and would like to know which anti-freeze to use when filling it back up and how much is needed. Sure i read somewhere about different colours of anti-freeze to use after so many years use in the car. Any help Appreciated. Andy

Hi Andy, here's the link to DIY servicing which mentions the two colours (blue/green and pink) http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/diy.htm. Not sure why need to change type though. Perhaps someone else can answer that one. Ford have always used the green on mine and the independent guys (v. reliable) that installed my new rad recently said that green was best. They also said its best not to mix them. 8.5 litres of 50% is recommended for the 24V. HTH

Hi Gaz Auto rads on attercliffe road. £88.00+ vat. Taking it in tomorrow. Andy Thanks pegasus for the info on the anti-freeze. Gaz Just been and picked car up total cost for recore and fitting £150.00. Fitter said it was a pig of a job to remove radiator and refit. Andy

Hi Gaz I would have thought so. I was charged £88.00 + vat for recoring the radiator and £40.00 +vat for removal and fitting. Andy
