Gearbox changing, smoothed out

The auto-gearbox on my cossie used to change badly around about the 10 mph mark ( both upchange, and downchange ). Sometimes it had quite a kick to it that I thought I would spend a fortune either replacing sensors, or getting a specialist to sort out the box. I had heard that the car sometimes re-learns things, if the battery is disconnected for about fifteen minutes or so, so I decided to give it a try. I disconnected the battery, for half an hour, and then re-connected, and hey presto....the gearbox is super-smooth, with no changing problems whatsoever. Hope it stays this way. If anybody has a similar problem, it's worth trying...you've got nothing to lose, but make sure you make a note of the radio code first.

The mystery of the Scorpio's workings never ceases to amaze me ! As you say , it's worth a try.
