Traction Control Unit

Hi all
Does anyone have any little tips for changing the traction control unit? IE how's best to take off the throttle cables etc? Dave (howieD) is sending me a replacement one this week! Come to think of it, he might be the man to ask this....
But any more little tips will make the job much easier!
