Man, don't i feel dumb Well, my car failed MOT. They said that the o/s and n/s front flexi brake hoses split and are showing braids. Well, I have 2 questions. 1.) what does o/s and n/s mean? 2.) Where are these hoses located?

real easy job, but then thats what I do, just like a hydraulic hose, you will need to bleed the brakes after. undo pipe from hose at body end, remove clip holding hose to bkt, then unscrew from caliper, if you do it quick you wont lose much fluid. same both sides, you may need help to bleed system,

I tis said that if you unscrew the cap of the brake master cylinder put a piece of polythene over the top then screw the cap back on this will reduce the amount of brake fluid lost during operations like this, summat to do with vacuum. Anytime I've tried it , it didn't work!

Bottom line is don't do it yourself. Bleeding brakes is a bit of an art and if you mess it up you have a 2 tonne, 140 mph projectile with no brakes The brake pipes are fairly cheap and you can even get braided stainless steel ones that look nice. Usually about an hours work for a technician to change them for you. Steve
