Hi lads...running a mint ultima with 69000 on the clock..full lpg conver but the 150bhp is just not do it for me...the lpf tank must weigh 50-75 kg wen full... any suggestions ...i have done the filter and a back box..prob 3bhp there .. My thoughts are this ... piper or kent cam upgrade... d- cat her and spend out for a good superchip... i expect that ll be £750.. what you guys think?? will 35bhp be a fair expected gain.. dont want the cossie at this stage as fuel is such a rip off. will the gear box in this 2.3 dohc take the extra?? the car really is lovely everything works and the old doctor who sold it to me must have never driven it in rain ..it so clean inside , i have valeted 2000 cars over the years and this was like wow!!!! Thanks in advance oh ps how can i get the pic s og car on the posts like you guys have done..

hi there cam kit... not sure if you can get a cam(s). maybe they do one for the galaxy:-/ even that might not work because of the auto set up. super chip... don't think it would work because of the lpg setup. what type of lpg kit do you have? most are mappable, but more power = more fuel used. de catting... makes a bit of a difference. maybe +15bhp. all in, maybe + 20-25bhp with everything. hth

stafford Well if your running LPG what kind of system? On LPG your car will make less torque & BHP it's one of the small draw backs. About 120 -130 bhp but depends on the system.. By far the best route would be to get a Cossie with LPG on it, if yours is good it should not really cost your much money to swap to a Cossie. You might even make a profit. A tuned 2.3 will use as much fuel as a STD Cossie anyway.

thanks 4 the reply.. cant find the paperwork 4 the lpg at mo..i do know it was done in 2000 and the box is a "leonardo" electronic feedback system... i shall ring piper and kent cams on monday and will post the results on here..wouldnt it be nice if they do do something and it gives 20bhp!!! dont mind a fuel loss for that.. i have got to lose the cat if thats the sort of gain I will expect ..not bad at all

If you want to remove the cat then you need to foul the lambda's, if i remeber right you must connect a 0.4 volt power supply insted of the sensors. OR maybe the LPG is clean enough for the lambdas.

hi there the 2.3 only has a pre cat sensor. you only need to weld in a boss for it on the cat by-pass pipe and it'll work fine. hth

| Don't the lambda will tell to EECV that emissions are high and will reduce the mixture => power loss

hi there Quote:Don't the lambda will tell to EECV that emissions are high and will reduce the mixture => power loss |
| it's in front of the cat, so all adjustment are already made. Quote:if i pass that info on to him will it be a str8 forward job and release some needed bhp |
| not hard/not easy!my one is s/steel and is a great fit as it needs to be. lots of thing to hit under there! regards power gains, you need to remember the 16valve engine doesn't come on strong until 3.5k upwards. it does make a difference, though! btw, you'll need reducers as the cat pipework is bigger. and the flanges. all in all, a fair bit of work.
