Hi ya all, Does anyone have any advice on the fitting of brake discs, i've my mot due next month and just been giving the car a good check over, and noticed the disc's(Front) have really corroded. How much are we talking for replacement, and how hard is the job. The ABS light came on yesterday, just checked the sensors, and none have come off, so could it be the discs Thanks in advance Ron

Easy peasy, you can get new discs for as cheap as £25 a pair upwards, mind replace the pads too. A decent long socket extension is needed for the caliper bracket removal and a hefty mallet/hammer for the removal of the rusty and probably stubborn old discs. Clean the new discs with soap and water , they will have factory grease on 'em. After fitment you'll be amazed at the power of the braking system. Good Luck.

clean the discs with brake cleaner....it cleans and evaporates away.....no left over residue apply copper ease to brake pads to stop possible squeal...... remember.....when you clean the hub......remove all rust/nasties...as 1mm movement at hub equates to 5mm at steering wheel.....and possible brake judder. so make sure the hub is bright silver.....sand the crap off... simon

got to say, never heard of using glue on brake disks, and cant see that it would help. in my opinion, you were right not to glue the new ones! Russ

Hello! My ABS lamp was switching on during ride. After turning the ignition off it went off. It repeated each day. after replacing badly worn brake discs the symptom has cured. OHC
