24v sump removal

Hello All
New owner with simple question for those who have "spannered" their own cars.
Borrowed ramps for a general "looksee" & rust proofing underneath but forgot to check if :-
1. Engine sump removal was easy straight forward job or a major issue. Seems logical to check if any build-up on sump strainer when doing major service
2. Does rear diff have drain plug or do you need to "crack" rear cover plate to drain - as Sierras
Hope someone can help otherwise it's grovelling under car time in this beautiful weather
Thanks in anticipation

To be honest I don't think it's a good idea to remove the sump, the strainer only gets clogged if the chain guides break up, only took them off with the engine out of the car but I am pretty sure you would have a job to remove it unless you lowered the front cross member or lifted the engine. Could get your self in a right mess.

Rear diff, yeah same as a Sierra in basic design except it's a bit bigger. So you need to remove the cover Wink

Thought it may not be easy task - so I'll take the advice & not bother.

Surprised not drain plug to axle but not a major issue

Thanks again

Yeah there is a level plug but if you want to drain it you have to remove the rear cover. Wink
