Hi, I hope every one had a good Xmas.
Question does any one know if a radiator from a 24v V6 auto will fit a 12v V6 auto.

Don't think so mate, seems to remember the 24v radiators have an extra pipe.

And a reputation for ballooning  Grin

yep, they are different, 24v has a pipe connection on the top which goes the the expansion tank, i think the vanes are wider diameter too.

Same physical size, but the 12v one wont last long i dont think in a 24v

A few 24v owners have found 12v radiators have been fitted as a "cheap" option by a previous owners

Highlander, the reason I ask is that I have been offered a good used one from a 24v for £15, the rad on my 12v has a very small leak at the bottom from the rubber seal on the plastic end cap. Its ok at the moment but if a good 24v rad fitted ( could block of the extra conection ? ) would save me a few £ s. Thanks for the info.

it's the other way round you want though isn't it ? ..block the extra pipe and the larger core will improve cooling ... I reckon ... STN

Our car is still going through water after serck marsden have had the radiator back twice and a new core fitted. Is there anywhere in scotland who does stainless steel rads ? If not, then we're goin to get rid of this car cos its doin his head in.

I have used Serk Marston for years and can't remember one single problem until recently .. I have now had at least 3 Cossie cores leaking down the passenger side front plastic tank seam onto the bottom hose where the core < which is ok > joins the side tank < which isn't > ..
someone isn't quite doing their job correctly obviously ... and Stainless steel is no good for radiators .. you need aluminium .. plenty of sources if required ... regards ...STN

Smiley oh thanks for that  answer. It's my fault re stainless steel, I got muddled up with exhausts.
Ok, so this is Serck Marsden's problem then ? So if we go back yet again and tell the Ford mechanic who's working on the car this, he can check it .. and then it would have to go back to SM once again We can go in there and speak to them if need be. This really helps because the husband was on the verge of asking the garage to buy it back and give him a Ka instead....ROFL
He says the old granadas never had this bother, they just ran and ran forever.
