Installing a cruisecontrol

Hello, people!

Now some of you probably wonder why these swede dont give up after reading numerous posts about the complexity of such an operation. Please bear with me.

I used to have a lot of Volvos (850T5/V70R etc).
In those cars I fitted a cruisecontrol myself 2 times, as I imported them from Italy, where they probably have a law against CC(havent ever seen a car with CC in Italy).

Now installing a Volvo CC is easy, because the wiringloom and connectors are already in place. All you do is hook up the buttons, the pump, pull the vaccumline thru the torpedo and put the relay in place(relay with some electronics). Of course the wastgate and the clutchrelease-detector needs to be mounted and hooked up. But still the wiring is there so it's any easy job.   Wink

I dont have access to a complete wiringschematic for the Scorp 95-.

Could anyone please tell me if the wiring is all in place?  Cheesy

Because my local demo.yard has a scorp 96 waiting to desintegrated, and I would gladly be the first to attempt an transplant. Could of course take some pics etc, and tell every one if it was successful or not.

I don't think the Scorpio has wiring for non-fitted items.  Having said that I was talking with Oliver at Harewood and he says that some have the connectors for the heated seats even if they're not fitted.  However mine doesn't.  One idea we thought of is that because Ford separate variants into high and low series, the low series wouldn't have any of the optional connectors as they were quite basic, whereas the high series used a different loom with the connectors (even if some not used).  We haven't proved this theory but a) it costs Ford money to add connectors and wires if they aren't going to be used b) it's unlikely each variant in the model range has it's own dedicated loom - this would cost more than using just one or two common designs.

With regards the looms I think you will find that there is a basic l;oom for all the cars with additional looms which plug in for the "extras". Mt scorpio did not have heated seats but all I had to do was get a replacement loom which ran from just infornt of the front passenger seat into the centre consul. two switches end of cousre the heated seats. but the loom I took out was only using five of the pins on the plug but the heated seat on had 7 or was it eight pins used.
So there may well be a basic loom with only the smaller bits of the loom modified which would make economical sense.

Nice, maybe I'll put one of those on my wishlist. Anyone have any experience in dealing with those people?
