Head Unit Remote

Just managed to swap my old 7000 ford head unit with a newer Ford 6006 one which has the 6 cd multichanger cleverly built into it. The question is, how do i go about getting the remote to work (if it is possible)? There is a small yellow connector from the 7000 unit which i think is for the remote and it plugs in nicely into the new head unit, but doesn't seem to do anything. Edit: Forgot to add, would i need a different remote interface module (RIM)? Any thoughts? Matt

I think the RIM is not compatible. I have the Ford Travelpilot Sat Nav from a focus and everything works apart from the remote stalk. However, my arms are long enough to be able to reach the buttons on the radio!! Never bothers me now Baz
