Anybody know of or have used a really good Paintshop in the Lanarkshire / Glasgow area that they could recommendHuh?

Going to get the full drivers side repainted and the wheel arch done at the same time.  It's been painted before (badly) and now i'm getting micro blisters appearing.

whilst we're on this subject, does any1 know how one would go about making a complete change of colour to a vehicle as regards the DVLA + Logbook?

Would the car req an inspection by a DVLA official afterwards or do they take your word?

Not related to my scorp this one but the VW i'm restoring

Well, i've been in today (again)  to see how work is progressing.  Seems to be going well, although it will be next Saturday before I get it back Cry.

Work so far, Bonnet, drivers wing, driver and passenger rear doors, rubbed right back.  The rear quarter light has been removed, ready for the back quarter to be prepared.  Some filling work has taken place on the bonnet and all the small dents have been removed.

It's quite sad to see it like that, I just want to clean it!!!.  It's covered in dust, compared to how it did look in my "I've been cleaning again" post.

A couple of pictures of the work, exquse the quality but taken on a camera phone.

It did look as if there was nothing wrong with the paint in the pictures I posted in the other thread.  But when you looked closely at it during the day, you could see it just wasn't right.

The paint work on that side was slightly cloudy and didn't polish up as well as the passenger side.  Also, there was somekind of reaction happening underneath the paint, which was causing micro blisters to appear.

With all the polishing, the heads were coming off the blisters, leaving tiny white spots along the top's of the doors.  It was only going to get worse, so I decided, if I was going to do it, it was going to get done properly, all in the one go.

Your right, I do love my Scorpio, it is maintained regardless of cost, and pampered, but I do intend to keep it for a very long time, so I feel the expense is justified.

Should get it back at the begining of next week Grin.  The wheel arch is done, and the rust bubbles on the sill have been removed and coated with black stonechip protector.

When I went in on thursday, it was in the spray booth, getting masked off, ready for primer, although they did say, it still had alot more work to be done, even at this stage.

I must admit, the guy's in the bodyshop are brand new, and are really taking a bit of time and effort over it.  It seems as if they are interested in doing it absoulutely right, and not just throwing a layer of paint at it.

I'll keep you's updated as to how it going.  Can't wait to get it back though, begining to miss it now Cry

Just a quick update.

Will have the car back on Tuesday.  Thing's have took a little longer than expected.  However it has been painted and most of the trim is back on.   The finish look's great but it still has to be compounded and the rear quarter light has to be put back in.

Getting a few extra's done at the same time, so it should look the dog's b******'s come Tuesday Wink
