another question for the lads who know .. is there a light fitted under the bonnet that comes on when the bonnet is opened??? if so where is it ?? i can see a nipple switch fitted to the frontof the engine bay and a rod on the bonnet that slots into it when the bonnet is closed i can only guess its a switch that turns something on when the bonnet is opened ??? BUT WHAT... many thanks guys kev

Like the dashboard illumination dimmer and the central locking lock/unlock indications , the engine bay light was just something the Scorpio designers absentmindedly forgot about. Spending too much time on those awful headlights I shouldn't wonder

craig.. have you tried replacing the bulbs?,currently have "superbrites" in mine,me to always thought the headlights could be a lot better,when i changed the lenses and the bulbs,this did make a considerable difference though..... just a thought.....

Hi Craig, Not changed the bulbs to any of these 'super bright' type, I am a little nervous on using bulbs like these in case they cause any electrical fires. I did use some on my Chevy Suburban when I lived in the USA, can't remember the brand but I do remember buying the market leading brand in terms of quality. They made some difference, not huge, but considering I used to drive quite a bit back and forth over the Sierra Nevada mountains where there is very little light pollution or artificial light, they were pretty good on the mountain roads.
