Your thoughts please Ladies and Gentlemen, should my 2.9 12v been burnt off in a straight line drag by a 2.0 Mondeo M reg ? I got him on top end in the end but I was really gutted to see a rusty mondeo pulling a way from me, any Ideas to stop it happening again?

Cheers

According to the 'book'...

2.9l 12v Scorp 0-60mph in 10.5s vs 2.0l Mondy 0-60mph in 9.4s

...so there's not much in it.

p.s. you could always fit some chariot style spikes to your wheels  Wink

Your right should I accept defeat, pootle along taking in the country air, improve my mpg or have some fun and show these upstarts what the big old girl can do ha ha. Nitrous injection, big turbo or as you say a Cosworth would put a stop to this disrespect from the Mondeo set, instead I will count to 10 and admit that there is a time in life for an old Scorpio to relax and take it easy, Ill just have to buy a sports car as well to keep the craveing down he he he (I wont tell the missus)  Grin

Alternatively buy a motorbike..... nowt leaves you at the lights except another bike and it only hurts a little bit when you fall off!!

Are you sure it was only a 2.0 litre??

Takes me back to when a mate of mine put a 1275 Cooper engine in his originally 850cc mini...but kept the badges and everything else the same...

Still makes me chuckle to think of the XR3i brigade crying in their beers after thinking they'd been done by an 850 mini  Grin Grin

Yep unfortunately unbadged Mondeo and the bloke behind the wheel didnt look the type to mod his rusty nail, he was chuntering to his passenger flicking ash from his rollup onto his lap which was hanging off his bottom lip, belive you me the figures above prove the case, hell what can you do apart from take comfort in the thought that he is not enjoying all the extras the Scorp holds, comfort and grace and the lovely growl from under the bonnet which goes along way in my book.  Wink

My word, if mine had not been taken off the road a couple of months ago (main situation how I got me pride'n'joy), I would have sworn you just described me Shocked
Not now tho Grin. In saying that, even tho I run a 2.3 auto, I have managed to burn up a few things (with a bit of gear gifting blackmagic) Grin
