Hi,
Just found this sitting under the crossmember.

Anyone have a similar thing and what is it normally connected to?

Cheers

Paul. Could it be for headlamp washers unless you have them. I'm sure I have the odd 'spare'connector on mine. Would the colour code of the wires tell you by reference to the wiring diagram?. Mike.

Paul...  I've got 2 of those on mine. One each side of the crossmember.
I think quite a few others have them as well, but no-one's ever worked out what the 'spare' connectors could be on a top spec car that already has everything  Undecided

Paul, the wiring diagram for headlamp washers seems to show the connections as having a black/yellow wire. Any help or do you have them fitted?.

The headlamp washers are not electric. They use the force of water pressure generated by the big pump sat in the washer bottle. There are only water pipes going to the jets!

Thank you Baz. Just re-checked the diagram and the text refers to the 'Pump' which is obviously the unit in the bottle not the actual jet mechanism. We live and learn!.

Apparently, and I don't know if this refers to the plug pictured, but some (all?) Fords have 2 plugs that you can connect to make the cooling fan run all the time. This is for carrying out work on the engine when it needs to be running for long periods without moving.

Does make you wonder why a plug is left un-protected from the elements Huh

JohnJ I prefer your first thought.

Perhaps for the Anti Radar/Gatso Missiles or for powering the rotisserie on the optional barbeque. Barry, what do you think? And if it is really not being used, what can we do with them?
