I have a 95 Scorpio 24v 2.9. One of the hubs has worn on the bearing journal. Have seen a spare hub on a 2 ltr estate. Are they not all the same part.

Pretty sure the hubs are the same, its only size of discs, calipers and pads that differ from model to model regards Paul

Unless I've read your post wrongly, is it wise to go to all the trouble of dismantling the rear wheel assembly only to fit ( maybe dodgy ) used components ?

I am driving a used dodgy component. A 12 year old car is not in the peak of condition, bit like me. Also if the used component IE the hub is within tolerance all OK. I am fitting new bearings so should be fine. Have to remember these Scorpio cars are not worth anything like the money they were fetching couple years back. Only got to look on EBay and you are lucky to get more than £500 now for a decent one. Crime really. So spending Mega bucks on spares is not an option. Sooner save it and put it towards my Jaguar S type fund. Seems lots of Scorpio owners use S/H bits. It is the only way to keep these excellent cars on the road. Think of it as a green thing. Recycling.

Fair enough. I agree , some of those E-Bay prices for used Scorpio spares are hilarious. £65 for 1 used 12 spoke alloy I'd want the 4 for that price.

i had an emergency about 6 months ago, had a bearling collapse on a saturday morning, went to my mates garage, with a new bearing.... he said hub was chewed up, what did we do? he had an old sierra 4x4 sitting out the back of garage, robbed hub off that, replaced with new bearing, no problem! just goes to show that the ford parts bin had a lot of interchangeable parts donnie

Thanks for all the replies. Makes sense to use common componets for a range of cars. Keeps production cost down and less spares bins. After all if a part works on one car why re-design it for another. Ford are good at that. Only down side to Ford. They stopped production of the Scorpio. What after the Scorpio?.....Dont like the look of the Lexus and they have thier fair share of Electrical problems. can not stand Vauxhall's. Jaguars are to pricey at the momment.
