i need a new front tyre on my cossie 24v, it has 205/65/15 at the moment, whats everyone been buying for their cars? cheap prices? worth splashing out £100 on a pirelli? how important to match treads on the front? sorry, used to drive a mini, they were £15 each, so this is a bit daunting!!

| dont forget, the tyres are your ONLY contact with the road,my tyres on line are recommended, used them myself, competitive prices as well,in my opinion i would buy a pair though, and stick the other one on the spare or sometrhing like that..

Well assuming you have standard 16" wheels on your car that's an odd size tyre you've got on there - Standard fitments are 225/50/16 or 205/55/16 that's a high profile tyre you've got there. I'd change the pair if I were you and go for a pair of Hankook Ventus Sport K104 at 225/50/16 - these are a fantastic tyre for the price - £58 each from http://www.mytyres.co.uk/start.html I've used them myself and I know of at least one other Scorpio owner on here who's used them as well and we both agree that they are a great tyre - better than a lot of the so-called premium brands at about half the price.

yep, can get falcons for £50 inc vat and delivery from tyretraders, always liked falcons and good price, or £102 for Goodyear Eagle Ventura to match the other side.... might as well get 2 falcons? £6 for local fitting....

I once had a set of four new 225/50/16 tyres fitted to my old Scorpio taxi (can't remember the make) & they were £45 each inc fitting, valve & balance. They were some eastern european make & the arrows (they were directional) on the tyres went the wrong way to the grips. They actually lasted 32000 miles with no trouble at all. Although they gave quite a hard ride.
