Further to my earlier thread...
Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the photochromic with an "ordinary" rear view mirror...say from a mondeo/galaxy..are the mountings the same??

YES it is possible to replace the rear veiw mirror with a standard one.. details are on the main site ..... see (HERE)

another way is to go to a scrapyard and you will find that the rear view mirrors that were fitted to jaguars and daimlers which were normal dipping type ones, had the same mounting brackets as the electronic ones fitted to the ultimas. They were made by the same company; Donelleys
