Hi,

My inlet manifold has broken, just behind the thermostat. Does any one know if it is possible to repair, (info please) or if not where is the best place to get a new manifold from.

Thanks in advance.

the crack / hole is on the opposite side to the 2 sensors. I don't have the manifold off yet but I would guess about a 2 mm diameter hole + the possibilty of a crack

How long ago did you fix yours ? holding ok ?

hi there

late last year. get the manifold off and give quick steel a go. much better than chemical metal.

just take your time and make sure it's 'gone off' before trying it.

this is the stuff..... http://www.vintagetractorspares.co.uk/Accessories/Pages/new_page_1.htm

took the manifold of, the hole is alot bigger than expected.

At the moment I think the only way would be to insert a piece of plastic pipe that is a tight fit and drill out the holes for the sensors etc, sealing it in well, and then to be doubly sure some quik steel on the outside.

I also noticed the wiring loom for the injectors etc was in really bad condition, alot of the wires were bare where the protective coating had cooked and become brittle. Alot of soldering to do tomorrow changing the wires as well......

mine was cracked (but still all in 1 piece) behind the thermostat, if the garage still has it, your welcome to it, just pay the postage

Thanks, will see how it goes tomorrow, I am in Estonia so postage will probably be around £30 - 40.

The main dealer here also does not have them in stock, 10 day delivery time if I want a new one Sad

I also used quick steel a couple of months back, and although it is great stuff there is still a very very very small seepage (not enough to worry about).
Obviously the long term solution is to buy a new manifold.
There's a guy selling a second hand manifold on Ebay for the extortionate price of £95 + £13.75 p+p.
But then again......if your desparate?
