When doing the MAF today I noticed that the rubber pipe running from the top of the egr had ripped apart approx 2" away from the egr. The car, a 2.3 97 P auto has been running sweetly except on motorway inclines where I though it might be a fuel filter problem. I am wondering now whether this ripped pipe could be the problem. For the time being I have simply taped the 2 parts back together but haven't had chance to check out motorway inclines!! Comments/advice please!! Thanks, Keith

Does the car feel like it is holding back on motorway inclines?......If so I would check the coil packs. These have been known to cause this effect when they start to pack up.
