A/C Pump and Clutch

 Hi, first time at this, so please be kind.
My A/C cluch has gone on my 1998 2.3 16V Ultima. Ive disconected the Drive belt and all's fine exept I have no Air Con. I'm thinking of buying a Pump with Clutch off ebay but can sobody tell me, will a 2.9 24V Cossworth one fit or does it have to be from a 2.3 16V only also are there other Ford models with the same pump as mine or do the job.

Welcome to the site,
I'm affraid the 2.3 doesn't share the same pump as the 24V. As for other Ford models using the same pump, I'm not sure.
I recently replaced my compressor on my 2.3 because the clutch had gone & got the new one (used) from another member on here.
The part number you need is.....96GW - 19D629 - AA

oops -compressors same.but as jonnycab says clutch assy different,rare mistake 4me 2 make.and a bit of a complication you dont need in changing clutch assy.

Tanks for the quick responce, WOW!
Well that answers that question then. Actaully have just been reading "AIR CON COMPRESSOR REPAIR" on page 5, so wondering if thats a better option as you never know how good a second hand one is.
