Bit of a biff when it comes to ICE. Whats the best/easiest to fit replacement rear speakers i can put in my cossie ultima. Dont want to shake the car to death but the old ones are feeling their age and bass isn't what it should be. Ideally just want to plug and play no drilling/fabricating etc what wattage/resistaance can the amp handle without causing damage?

You can probably forget plug and play because of the way the original speakers are mounted, in addition to the depth, or rather lack of depth in the parcel shelf. The best option is to fit a set of component speakers on a wood fitting which you can either cover with the new speaker covers and cover the wood fitting in "carpet", or mount the fitting inside the original covers. The last option does require some cutting and glueing on the original speakers. Pull the speakers out (single bolt underneath) and you will probably see what I mean.

no probs ..just get a small thin electrical screwdriver and take it easy when removing the back mesh grill..it comes of by working around clockwise every two inches or so...
