Heater Fan squeaking

Hello,
even the latest Scorpios are getting over the hill now. So my problem, the squeaking heater fan, should be common to a lot of us. WD40 cured the problem only for a week. On the other hand I do not want to take the jigsaw and cut the housing into pieces, as the Norwegian guy did. Going along with the workshop manual means to disassemble half of the car. So my question is: What did you do, to cure the sqeaking fan thoroughly?
