Hi can somone tell me the correct procedure for programmin the remote controls? I have one working one and one I have just bought that I can't seem to program. My manual says turn ignition key to pos 1 and press the unlock button. The manual on the scorpio site says press unlock then open the door with the key? and the vendor says something about turning the ignition off and on 3 times? TT

With the key in the ignition, turn the ignition to the I position, then off and then on again three times, then, on the 4th turn leave it at I. A beep will sound showing that the system is set to program. Now press the unlock button on the remote. Press the unlock button on any other remotes that you have to program at the same time. Now turn the ignition off. A beep will sound indicating that program mode is finished. The remote is now programmed. This is the CORRECT procedure. The way that Ford suggest in the manual is wrong. Ford dealers take your car in for an hour and charge about £50.00 to do this!!

I changed my remote batteries recently, thought I'd try programming from outside, unlocked passenger door with key pressed unlock on remote, tried locking with remote & it worked. Next time I turned on the ignition I got an acknowledgement bong. Dave

This subject has been raised many many times on this forum. It would appear that there are two methods of programing the remotes it just depends on what year the car is. The early ones can be programmed as per the instructions on the hand book. ( I can with mine ) If you want to programme TWO remotes then the method on the main site MUST be used
