I'm having nightmares with the dipping mirror at the moment so wouldn't recommend it! The air bag could be retro fitted but think it would be a pain/expensive as you would need to fit sensors etc, you might be able to use drivers sensor to set off the bag when the drivers one goes off,not sure.

I've just removed a passenger side airbag and airbag module from a late 97 Scorpio with the idea of installing it my 95 Diesel.
Looks a straight forward replacement for the original unit but I'm going to seek professional advice about it before I do it from a safety point of view.

Keep me informed then Highlander, will be interesting to know.

I read the dipping mirror thread Cossieguy, did make me wonder.

Next option... Headlamp washers?

Any clues on the global closure not working? I had this on my 1991 Carlton and it was sort of useful...

And one touch, is it just down on all, or up and down on some years or should it be up and down on my 95?

Cheers

I think the global closing might need programing, either by Ford or by Baz Wink

Twinturbo do you mean global clossing via your remote or using key in lock? Mine only works using key, it opens sunroof first then front windows then rear then vice versa for closing. I agree with Highlander that you need to get global closing programming to use with remote though have seen someone who's had it done (Member on here Mechcity)and its pretty cool. Contact him and he might give you the details).
Headlamp washers should probably be the easiest out of the lot to do hardest part i imagine would be fitting them neatly into front bumper and feeding the hose to both parts of the car, might help to find someone who's already got them to see how Ford installed them.

There was a mod made up to use global closing via the remote, I dont think it can be programmed by Ford, I'm pretty sure it works on the key only

Ford do say that if fitted the n/s air bag cannot be removed or turned off, (no children in the front then)the modules would need changing at least, you are also dealing with explosive devises & must follow correct removal & fitting precautions!!& update window info for any future owners!

The global closing via remote was a mod done a while ago now, There were only a small amount of these made and you'll be lucky to find one now.
Craig will be able to tell you more about it as there was more to it than just the G/C, he had it fitted to his 2.3.

got the mod fitted to my car. When the car goes above 5mph it auto locks the doors, the remote can open all windows and sunroof and close them too. Handy when you park up and find a window still open!
