24V Valley Loom... Rough Idle..

My car was registered on 27/4/95 I am guessing that it's most likly got the old unshileded loom, and this could be the cause of my rough runnig problems.. My symptoms are. Idle very rough when cold, tries to stall then pick up repeatidly. Seems a bit better when warm but still lumpy. can be very anoying pulling against the autobox at junctions. And ocasionaly stalls. Last code read only showed a faulty heater on a bcak lambda, but need to pul them again to be sure. I have cleaned the MAF and ISCV. Some quick questions... What should the ECT read cold and hot in ohms.. Anyone got an old engine loom that I can use for a rebuild? If I blank of the VAC outlets on the plenum ( to rule out pipe leaks ) should the car run ok.. ( EGR and VIS will be out of access I know.. )? I need to get this sorted before the winter weather and the need to defrost in the morning... Cheers TT

If the ECT is the same as the boa (& i think it is)@ 20*c 35000-40000,@40*c 15000-18000,@ 60*c 7100-8000 & @ 80*c 3000-4500, I use GT85 (a rattle can)from most motor factors, its kinda like wd40 but not so oily, spray this around vac.pipes, inlet gaskets & so on if theres an air leak the engine revs will change (normaly pick up)
