this might've been posted before but its worth posting again; was chatting to Mazzy about the turbo (i know bu**er all about em) and he gave me a top tip, there is a vacuum hose that runs from the underside of the inlet manifold to the top of the diesel pump where it is connected by a banjo bolt (the other end is a jubilee clip), remove this hose but soak the banjo in wd40 first and blow it through with compressed air or carb cleaner and refit it. i used carb cleaner and a fair amount of gunk dripped out, but more importantly the small holes in the banjo bolt were crusted up so i cleaned them all out with a pin, i then refitted the pipe, it all took 10 minutes. result; the engine feels much freer, the throttle is definately more responsive, the car pulls superbly, and best of all, my scorp has always smoked quite heavily under acceleration, i cleaned this hose last saturday and so far, no more smoking!!! except the usual puff when changing gear
