Which module is this?

Just above my right toe in front of my knee as I am driving and above the soft trim held by two buttons, there is a small black plastic cased unit with 15 pins total in two rows with a gap in one row. It is clipped onto a black plastic tray for support, but has two moulded into the case brackets (unused) to enable it to be bolted into to place. The pins are slightly corroded and unplugging it doesn't seem to affect anything I could notice whilst parked in my garage. A module to the extreme left of the above plastic tray, seems to control the foot well lighting and perhaps more items.

According to an ebay listing for a quite similar looking module in a rather poor photo, it would seem to be the cruise control module. If so, the corroded pins might explain my earlier problems getting the cruise control to operate. Thanks for everyones continued patience, with a Scorpy newby
