Try reading This. Text and pictures. You will need a 'wind back' tool for the pistons as they CANNOT be pushed back. They are on a 'thread' so have to be turned. A suitable unit, made by Draper, is available for a few pounds, and makes life easy. Look Here and enter 52334 in the search box.

ive done em easy enough to remove (follow simmos link), also, if you find you cant get enough room to fit the new pads, the piston on the rears rotates, screw it in a clockwise direction untill it stops. also make sure the little tag on the back of the pad sites in one of the 4 grooves in the piston. one it's all fitted back to gether, opperate the handbreak a few times to opperate the self adjusters on the pistons matt

Matt makes a very good point. The grooves and the 'peg' need to line up as that is what maintains the handbrake adjustment as the pads wear. That is why the rear pistons are threaded and thus need to be wound back as opposed to the front ones which can be 'pushed' back.

Apart from the awkward winding back manoeuvre, it's a breeze, an hour should do both sides. PS, give the handbrake mechanism a dowsing with the blessed WD40 when you're there.

60/65 is quite reasonable for a rear pad change, dont forget you will need some special tools, a wind back cube is probably cheepest, will need 3/8 ratchet & extension also.

Hi micky5, i did mine not too long back, it was easy enough thanks to the link mentioned previously, very helpful. I also got round the need for the special wind back tool by simply using a large adjustable spanner which saved me £15 all you do is set the spanner to fit 2 of the pistons raised blocks and turn away! Good luck mate
