F/Fogs without H/lights?

Has anyone found a means to defeat the Interlock on the lighting switch which prevents using the front foglights without having to have the headlights on? I have a spare lighting switch here, but it looks difficult to get into.

You say you have to have headlights on, but they should come on with just the sidelights. Well, mine do anyway. But if you want them on independantly from other lights, then I guess a seperate switch as suggested above.

They are wired that way because of the requirements of the lighting regulations.

| You were half right, I was half wrong - I was thinking of the way Granada's operated. They can be turned on with the switch in the sidelight position, but when driving and the sidelight position is selected the headlights become dim/dip. The Granada was rather silly in that you had to have the headlights on to get either the fog light to work, which rather defeated the usefulness of front fogs in preventing the back scatter of light in really dense fog.

| Have you got the dim/dip feature? if you have, then it will not allow you to drive on just side lights, the side light position becomes dim/dip as soon as you start the engine. It was a rather sensible approach to lighting where sidelights were not enough, but dipped headlights were too bright until EC rules put a stop to it.

regular driving lights (+ side lights) come on with the ignition, but I can twist the switch one notch to dim down to side lights, and then have the possibility to turn on the fogs. next notch will then turn on the regular driving lights again, this time with the possibility to turn on the full beam.
